Site covers activities and members of the Global Military Advisory Council on Climate Change
The Hague, 28 March 2014
We are pleased to announce as part of IES programmes the launch of the website for the Global Military Advisory Council on Climate Change (GMACCC).
GMACCC is a global network of serving and retired military officers, and associated institutions, committed to highlighting the potential security implications of a changing climate and advocating action, including by the military, to minimise the risks.
The Council was established at the initiative of the Institute for Environmental Security as part of its project “Climate Change and the Military” – a co-operative effort of a group of leading think tanks aimed at sending a clear and strong message from the security sector to global policy makers to engage the international community to mitigate security risks in proactive climate change adaptation strategies.
